General SIP information

The information below should be sufficient to configure most devices. See our other Configuration Guides for device-specific instructions.

Use the details below when configuring your SIP device or SIP soft phone. Some settings may or may not be required, so please use these values as a guide only.

Registrar Server: sip[x].voiphost.co.nz - example: sip01.voiphost.co.nz
Realm: voiphost.co.nz
SIP Port: 5060 UDP
DTMF Type: RFC2833
Voice Codec (in order of preference): g711 alaw | g711 ulaw
Packet Size / Sample Period: 20ms - 40ms

Please remember that your SIP username is not the same as your VoIP control panel username, even though the passwords may be the same. Your SIP account will always consist of 4 numbers, followed by a star (*) and another 3/4 numbers, for example : 0010 * 001 @ sip01.voiphost.co.nz
